Working While You Study

International students can work part-time for up to 20 hours a week and full-time during all scheduled holidays and/or during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

Post-Study Work Visa

You can apply for this visa if you have recently finished your studies in New Zealand. It allows you to stay and work here for up to 3 years, depending on what you studied.

All students can support visitor visas for their partners and children. Some can also support a work visa for their partners, or student visas for their children.

Pathway to Residence

After finishing your post-study work visa in New Zealand, you can apply for a Skilled Migrant Category Resident Visa if you meet the necessary criteria. This visa allows you to live, work, and study in New Zealand permanently.
